Kerr went to Rugby and Brasenose before being Called to the Bar at the Inner Temple. He served on the Western Circuit and later compiled and edited the Student’s Blackstone.
He was initiated into the Lodge of Good Report No 136, and was a Founder of Pellipar Lodge with his brother and fellow Rugbeian Charles Henry Malcolm Kerr.
He was a member of the Oxford & Cambridge.
