Bro Captain Arthur Grenville Herbert was an Old Harrovian, a few years above Reginald Dadson, who went to Trinity Cambridge becoming solicitor.
He served with the 7th Battalion East Kent Regiment (the Buffs), before being invalided home in 1917, becoming Adjutant and Quartermaster of the Dover Garrison Signalling School. He served in the Home Guard in the Second World War.
In peacetime he went on to become secretary to the Forestry Commissioners.
