Geoffrey Christian Stephenson

Bro Geoffrey Christian Stephenson went to Tonbridge before becoming a foreign service civil servant.

He specialised in Central Asia.

He served in Mesopotamia during the First World War as an Interpreter for the Indian Corps and then the Political Dept before returning to the Indian Office after the Armistice.

He was the leading light of the Royal Central Asian Society and contributed materially to its success, as noted in his obituary in their Transactions.
